I think the “Farcaster is too nice” take stems from a confusion of thoughtfulness for niceness, and the clear dearth of both on the bird app.

Yeah if you think about how you chat idly with people in line at a grocery store no one would call it “too nice” …just normal. 
The asshole online personas are just reality tv cosplay. To be one way in real life and another way online is obviously inauthentic on one side of the coin. Be the same everywhere.

Great analogy. It seems that once a crowd scales too much and entertainment is thrown into the mix, people begin to behave poorly.  Hopefully Channels will help maintain this more pleasant grocery store vibe even at scale.
