Have you ever completely forgotten you’ve read a book? I started reading The Nix. Seemed pretty familiar. I assumed I’d read the first chapter. Now, 300 pages in, I’m certain I’ve read this whole thing already. Maybe a sign I’ve read too many books? hahaha

To be fair, The Nix is a pretty good book. Not sure why it blew out of my memory so much.

Yes, and it really bothers me! I just have to remind myself that even if I’ve forgotten, it created pathways in my brain that still exist, and is creating even more pathways the second time. But yes, book amnesia is real 🙃

Haven't had it happen with books, but certainly with movies or Netflix shows. They seem to be so disposable nowadays with no real emotional investment required. Fast food entertainment.
