How much does it cost to index a whole evm chain? Rough estimate is fine I know its probably insane but am super curious

I run @indexsupply on a single, very good server. I'm indexing 10+ chains and have over 12TB of data indexed. I keep a second, not-as-good server for a backup. It doesn't have to be expensive.

Software stack is: Rust, Postgres, Postgres C extensions, and ZFS on Ubuntu. I wrote a custom ABI decoder and SQL rewriting system — the workhorses of the system. I will make a video about the hardware stack soon.
