Continuous glucose monitors are amazing. They should no normalized for all, regardless of diabetes or diabetes risk. Like a cheap superpower sixth sense.

Unlike chemical interventions (the mounjaro/ozempic era) I kinda trust the wysiwyg nature here… it’s just a sensor+psychology. A mindfulness prosthetic for health.

I’m using the freestyle libre 3 (insurance doesn’t cover for prediabetes but doctor gave me an Rx so I could just buy out of pocket at pharmacy instead of sketchy online place). Unlike the older one you had to scan, which I tried 2y ago, this is Bluetooth continuous logging.

here’s a funny thing about libre, their app ux sucks. and they’ve hard coded to expire patches every 2 week or so. the reality is those patches are good for 3-4weeks

yea I’m fine with their profiteering short-term. you can actually read data off of the libre to a react native app over ble. same goes for most of these other patches/health devices 😎

They do allow csv download from site do I’m kinda fine with sucky app. It also stops me from going too nerdy and focus on big picture of [spike_height, duration] = f(food event, activity)

I’ve also dropped the nerdy to focus on figuring right f(x,y,z…) for a year or so
