They are a fig leaf attempt by Apple to give system-level notifications to websites.

Yes, you don't have App Store restrictions, but the revealed preferences of consumers is they don't want the browser lag.

No, an "MVP PWA" is not going to tell you much. Consumer DAU products need at least 30 days before you know they are working.

I can agree but I would also have to disagree. 

if the goal is to onboard 1 billion users the pwa  shouldn't be dismissed IMO! 

Their benefits in low data usage, no app store dependency, cross-platform compatibility, offline functionality, and lower development costs make them a strong option, especially in developing regions with diverse devices and unstable or limited internet access.
