Really hoping these newer TMC2208 drivers will be quieter than the DRV8825 I’m running on my custom plotter. The stepper sounds are so bad they give me physical stress.

It’s a rag tag one I made from 1000mm extrusion rails and random electronic parts I’ve upgraded along the way.

By far the highest ROI parts have been the TMC2208 motor drivers that made it almost silent. Before those, the sounds of the steppers were very annoying. These probably come with most multi axis machines nowadays but they were a game changer for me.
