I think the dark forest theory gets it wrong. The internet isn't retreating into private groups—it's building cities. Everyone can see them, anyone can join, but you have to fully live in one to understand what's being built there and appreciate the knowledge and culture.

I agree, for Farcaster, but I think Warpcast is in a weird place where its trying to be X with benefits, i.e. an open-web platform, when its really a playground/prototype for ppl building new little villages

Sounds right. Taking the analogy to its conclusion, Farcaster in its current state seems akin to a monoculture country. Will grow to be an economic powerhouse. But the country and cities in the world everyone gravitates to is the most culturally diverse.
