anyone know good posts about open source & enterprise software buyer psychology? Realized that I treat open source as an insurance policy - I will likely never host stuff voluntarily, but knowing I can lets me sleep at night if the company goes under, makes huge product changes, or costs become exorbitant.

Other things I consider: Open source means people will build stuff on it I can use. Open source means it will likely be cheaper (not always) since they compete with self hosting costs I can see why labeling things as open source, like closed source AI models, is appealing!

I found this helpful. Not as much buyer psychology but good mental model for thinking ab building an open source biz https://youtu.be/c9SJAPxU5bs

This is a lot of questions. Research open source. Depends how old. If old Google scholar (nope not joking) if new look where they post. Sorry if this sounds a bit random but I sometimes do this.
