Since Spam labels are now public, I’ve spent some time looking at things these accounts have in common vs accounts that don’t get labeled and this is my initial advice for people who’ve been labeled. 1. STOP sharing frames. If you didn’t build it, don’t share it. 2. Stop recasting. Instead, quote cast and spell out why you are sharing it. What makes this worthy of being shared? 3. Ensure 80% of your timeline is original content. Don’t steal it from the web, make something unique and genuine. It better to not cast at all than to cast slop. 4. Only reply to people in channels. If someone casts to their home feed and doesn’t follow you, don’t comment. 5. Stop tagging people. They don’t get notified of the tags anyway. It’s pointless to tag them.

but sharing frames is good for devs to gain more exposure, right?! of course, not casting frame after frame nonstop... i'm sure devs get some compensation i.e. $moxie by being used from users...

Yes. But here’s where incentives don’t align and someone loses out greatly. Top users don’t cast frames constantly. They do it very rarely and usually comment about why they are casting it. Frames that auto tag tons of users are one of the main culprits of spam labels IMHO. I can’t prove this. The algo is secret. But 90% of people here are labeled as spam and most of them cast too many frames.

Wouldn't this mean everyone who uses rodeo top 9 is spam? Are they trying to kill their platform? Jeezus. People just want to chat and shitpost and not worry about stupid censorship.

And also, this onto matters on Warpcast. The protocol is open and all that jazz. Too bad most everyone uses Warpcast.

No. But it means people who have a spam label already and continue to tag people who don’t follow them and don’t interact with that cast (because they honestly didn’t get the tag) will probably continue to be labeled as spam and have a really hard time getting that label removed. Rodeo has an incentive to tag people and get you to buy art so they make money. They give zero shits that you get marked as spam because of it. The incentives don’t align. I love when people tag my art. But if you have a spam label already, I’ll never see that tag, which is really sad because I’d want to say thanks for supporting me and my art and I can’t do that because you are invisible to me.
