isn't it a matter of "you get back what you put in"? A while ago I created this dashboard to keep myself in check, and keep a 1-to-5 cast-to-replies ratio: https://dune.com/tudorizer/personal-farcaster-healthcheck Engage in convos/threads and, over time, you build an audience. Such an approach also bypases the inherent issue with algos (which all, uniformly such, because most are optimised for engagement, versus a healthy community)

farcaster engagement comes and goes and I believe compared to modern social media platforms, with less algorithmic vitality built into the system apart from a dev or founder creating a frame experience followed in case u come back

For new accounts, Twitter isn’t that dissimilar tbh My Twitter account has much lower distribution and the barriers there seem to the same as here when starting out. Just takes time and a bunch of work. However, if you critique Twitter, no one gives af
