Yes. Virtue is good because it’s decentralized self-control. The more virtuous the society, the more self-disciplined, the less need for centralized law enforcement, rules, and punishment in general. Virtue is why we can have nice things.

Virtue is a by product of wealth. Guan Zhong wrote 2.5k years ago that moral concepts such as virtue can only come into play under good economic conditions. Tech that doesn't build wealth can only mimic virtue, it will never be virtuous. Leaders that don't build wealth, for their followers, can not sustain leadership.

Big corps (VCs?), government are not incentivized, perhaps deliberately... by limiting the time horizon of leadership and remuneration.
