Didn’t know this but Telegram chief Pavel Durov is apparently a UAE citizen. UAE is sort of a quasi “network state” and it will be interesting to see how durable its citizenship guarantees are but how much they offer him assistance or intervention now.

Oh interesting, I previously thought that UAE citizenship was only hereditary or through marriage but only in certain cases. 100% network state adjacent.

Yeah I thought you could only ever apply for residency, never citizenship
