I don't think it's really on Eigenlayer, the investor's e-mail was compromised and sent out a false address...that's on the investor for not securing their e-mail. Maybe this could be prevented in the future by crypto custody service companies (who are responsible generating these addresses) should have some transparent attestation service that says "BitGo generated the address and not some hacker"

It’s totally on them. They didn’t have a vesting contract or any safe guards or even bother to confirm when an investor wanted to change the wallet. Eigen team has been pretty bad all along imo. I bagged out when they didn’t bother to tell US stakers that they wouldn’t be allowed to claim until long after they had our money.

Yeah exactly— and there’s plenty of tools to help with this. Or with the millions raised they could’ve built their own. Or just texted/called the number of the investor that I’m sure they have. This was so avoidable.

I tend to agree with you. I think about the verification I have to provide in similar situations like opening a safety deposit box and know they f’d up
