Ok I’m late to the party but just listening to @boysclub pod for first time & loved if! Toady gave an interview on the Nouns fork which was great. But it was the second half that really got me. Great discussion about what it’s like to tell people you work in crypto. And all the feelings around that. ⤵️

Would love to know —anyone else get anxious talking to normie friends/family about what you’re working on in web3? How DOES that make you feel? Pod link: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/boys-club/id1616327892?i=1000628904479

Every time I talk to normal people about my job the reaction is either confusion, total rejection, or my mum who goes you really need to do something more meaningful with your life. Latter actually hits me the most because I do question the meaningfulness/purpose quite a bit these days. The rest I can cope with.

I have a super left leaning outspoken environmentalist sister who believes it’s her way or the high way. She’s thinking I’m teaching online. Which I do. I’m the only one in my family whose not working for public institution or social service.

it so below radar here in NZ there is no shame in saying I work in blockchain, just blank looks. So mostly it makes me feel frustrated that I haven't got the words to get them to 'take a look' and join me, ie. the over 40s women who I desperately want to see join this space.

BoysClub pod is great, they are super open and vulnerable and it's great to have a female lens talking about the topics in such an accessible way.
