A majority of people acquire a static set of knowledge early on then stop growing and base their identity around it. Recognising that many things you thought precious are now a commodity, and taking action on it requires both serious humility, and a continuous drive to learn and evolve.

I think in the end it's the same reason why lots of people root for crypto to fail. A fundamental misunderstanding of technology and why humans keep looking for "more".

Could you share some examples? I have been running a fun experiment with Grok and failing every time. I post beeple’s art of the day and ask it to explain it to me. This is actually something I want since I am not aware of the context many days and Grok has failed so far.

Agreed, likewise it's had a profound impact on my work effectiveness and efficiencies. Think it's less about the tech and more so Elon vs Sam beef x LLM to market wars, which is silly.

I prefer to use local LLMs, thats my only complaint. otherwise i agree and always suggest people go give chatgpt a try. Claude is great, and so is NotebookLM

Idk why anyone would root for it to fail, either. Tools have advanced humanity since forever, and this is just another tool. I use chatGPT in my personal and business life. The amount of time saved is huge.
