nouns (to me) is an incredibly ambitious experiment exploring if memes can be the value capture mechanism for public goods (open source software, cc0 art, public privacy, etc) such that we can have more of those things without relying on altruism at scale

to be clear, nouns can totally be enjoyed without sharing this ambition (they are fun, weird, playful, silly memes on their own) and this is just my take but i feel like this lens is a big part of what has kept nouns fans bonded over the years rejecting the financial nihilism ppl think are inherent with memecoins

nouns is like a meme with a dream. the aspiration is core to what makes it fun and what gives it heart

optimism is trying to reroute a share of transaction fees (kind of like taxes, but ofc more transparent and opt in)

gitcoin is trying to leverage crypto philanthropy with algorithmic efficiency

nouns is just an entirely different approach trying to leverage the economic energy of memes to produce what ppl want / need

This is such a great, thoughtful conversation and makes me enjoy nouns more

with all due respect, nouns tend to like to fund things (good things) that u can brand, paint with bright colors, and put noggles on. 

many public goods need investments in foundational systems that keep them sustainable. hope the nouns ecosystem will be voting for those props in the future too.
