There is no actual trustless solution, everything has flaws to its model. The distribution of exploits and probability of that exploit being worth it to go through are far more important. In 12 years I’ve never used anything more than a standard eoa wallets and I port my seed around all over.

while it's true that there is no fully trustless solution, there are definitely risk mitigations you can take that dramatically reduce the likelihood of compromise to effectively zero. The downside of course, is that usability goes effectively to zero as well.
