I used CalyxOS for about four years - the downside is that you become a bit of a pain for your friends (I can't x with this app bc it requires Google Play Services, can you do it / can I contribute another way?) but I highly encourage anyone w a bit of tech savvy or stalwartness to try it! I'll prolly go Graphene next

so does Calyx but it's still often problematic when apps need to talk to each other for something to work (e.g. premium subscriptions)
