Am I the only geek making a properly scaled map of their house to track all the home sensors?

Want to do the same thing! What tools/widget are you using? Any tips?

The map is actually a background image generated with any 3D rendering program, I personally used a website called floorplanner, but you can also use Sweet Home 3D or anything else, like a paint drawing, for that purpose.

I then create an SVG with that render as background and add the interactive layers, and use this integration to show it on my dashboard:

I might try to just draw a floorplan on a piece of paper for starters :)
