Two worst bets I made that did not work at all: 1) Trying to sync the farcaster data to database to provide all farcaster users with advanced stats & analytics. Tried shuttle, different setups, spent 4 months, results are less than usable. 2) Trying to sync the moxie subgraph to database to provide all moxie users with advanced stats & analytics. Spent 2 months doing that, results are inconsistent. When it works - it's amazing. But the sync stops at random times and then the data is unusable. I could spend all this time working on some cool frames...

Geez. I knew the data replication issues were bad but not this bad. I'm going to be giving it a stab next month and work on it in public. Both FC and Moxie data.

It's tricky. I understand the time spent issue, but you've learned a lot of new things from the building experience. You'll have a breakthrough moment someday

Whatβs your issue with shuttle? I'm running one that only stores the last 30 data, and it's working well.

great insights! I also went down the hubs/shuttle rabbit hole some time ago to have real-time updates directly from hubs, but I quickly switched to nenar, even though I initially had some thoughts like "I have to make this thing reliable."

Indexing Co can provide direct FC data to DB streams for like $50 per month. Any specific data you need or just want it all?

Was the tough part keeping it near real time? It seems like replicating the rocks.db files to postgres or snowflake should be doable
