I had to stay in the green air speed arc today (bottom left quadrant is the anemometer)
Too many turbulences to enter the yellow arc. But hey, 150km/h air speed (20kmh side wind and we are at 1300m over sea level, will explain later what this changes) without engine is not that bad.

That's what we call transitions: travelling from a positive lift zone to another and spending less time as possible in the negative vertical speed zones.

It's climbing very slowly at about +1m/s as this is the beginning of the thermals of the day. It's going to be better 2h later with +3/+4 and max altitude around 2000m QNH

I feel safe not having to worry with an engine.
Less failure, less noise (no need for headset), no gas smell, no fire risk, ... Just freedom and natural solar energy (thermal lifts we use are due to sun heating the ground and the ground heating the air making it raise as it's lighter than cold air, and we use this to climb, like an elevator).
