Nice images but the explanation is still a bit complicated and not sure why they just don't have a fixed price for their apples as it's the exact same product. Selling more requires more effort and more people to deal with the shop, so they should even increase prices. It looks like the friends should work in crypto instead of fruit business with this convoluted logic thinking...

The apples have a short shelf life and should be sold fresh to avoid waste. Furthemore, the friends want to feed the world and grow their business, so they do not mind attracting new customers with low prices whenever possible, given that the apples would have been wasted otherwise.
