Would you still design if you got $2m out of nowhere? 

What would you do differently (if anything)?

Absolutely.

First thing I'd do is create financial stability. Pay off my student loans, buy a house in Austin and sabbatical to find somewhere to settle when I'm ready to leave Austin. I'd invest as much of the rest as possible to secure enough passive income to cover monthly expenses.

Without financial pressure, I would only be interesting in working on personal projects and high-impact public branding projects that align with my values.

I'd experiment with other mediums — My background is in print, packaging, and environmental graphics (which I miss in software), and I've wanted to break into industrial, fashion, interior, and landscape design. 

I've always dreamed of opening a coworking space with an excellent specialty coffee program that would double as my design studio HQ. Any remaining energy would likely be focused on educating/mentoring younger designers.

That $2M would be used up in a flash.

I will always design.
