I'm starting a free trial of Apple Music to test out their lossless audio streaming, and to start making real effort to move away from Spotify and its treatment of artists. I'm eager to get my personal library of music imported into it. Anyone have any tips on using Apple Music for music discovery and playlisting for social sharing?

They pay artists $0.1 per stream, compared to Spotify's $0.003–0.005 rate. They also give artists more control over their music impact.

Wow 0.1$? This is actually good. I used to be in the music scene and one of our tracks got 1mil and it generated around 2000$ from it. 50% to the label, 50% split amongst two artists. I got 500$ for that song. I got 650$ from SPEC airdrop just because i am on FC :)

And that $0.01 still gets split among rights holders, so not everything always makes it to the individual artist(s). And yeah, the music industry continues to be an extremely punishing industry for its main contributors. Very unlike the privileges we get in Web3, and Farcaster especially :-)
