It occurred to me today that some people don't think there's a difference between the act of plotting vs the act of writing.

To me they are worlds apart. Left brain vs right brain. Strategy vs execution. Best done in separate sessions.

Then again, I've never been a pantser and can't even fathom how one could just write as you go. :D

I'm in the middle. When I've plotted heavily, it turns out I was too confident. When I write scenes themselves, the detail informs plot. After all, characters drive the plot, not the other way around. So, sometimes the act of writing unfurls part of the plot for me. It's a back and forth.
