how would you feel about a product that rewarded you with liquid tokens for using it, but every time you used a competitor's product, it divided future reward distributions by 50%?

idea #2: same as above but opt-in. earn 1x rewards by default or 2x for putting a ring on it

The NFT platforms kinda do this already. Not much different than a traditional loyalty program, it’s just a bit more aggressive.

Exactly. When products have little to differentiate beyond pricing and perhaps the odd gimmick, gamification and loyalty mechanisms can create a healthy competitive balance.
