I’m vegetarian, and the eggs we buy at home are free-range, so yes I’m opposed to it Plus, I see enough cockfights at work to entertain me as it is

I respect the moral consistency. IRL friends like you are how I had access to eggs during a 7 week period of the pandemic. If there were a way to reliably meet demand with this model I will support it 100% But with our existing systems, why not?
