Yep and apparently they have been doing it a LOT with people around them. I'm always curious how much of it is actively malicious, but that matters less than the effect they are having on the people around them. I suppose we'll see how things turn out. It's just really odd feeling like something of an observer.

That's a triangulation tactic.  Telling you things the other person didn't say to pit you against each other.
