The client and protocol used to have the same name -- Farcaster. I think the client should have kept the name Farcaster and the protocol should have been named Warpcast. The Farcaster meme is just too strong (even back then) and is usually first touchpoint for new users (instead they have to learn about Warpcast).

Just had this chat with a friend today, have to introduce people to farcaster and then tell them about warpcast to use it
