Wild drama happened – but it also made me think: how did an anon account gain such influence that even after a past crime was revealed, people here are saying he was a good guy? Proxy built strong personal ties by making many people here richer and by supporting early-stage projects, some legit, some not. Supporting someone who's just starting out – when they're small and nobody – is a powerful bond-building tactics. It's a universal human trait to feel grateful for the help. That gratitude can even blur judgment. For example, I feel something similar toward the Base eco and Jesse. They gave me a small grant early on, and even now, despite controversy, I still view Base highly positively. What really scares me is how easily this loyalty-building tactic can be used for manipulation by people with bad intentions. So I just wish more people were mindful about *why* they feel a certain way about someone.

they used to say "don't trust, verify" for the farcaster social layer it is very small. if just a few ppl become interested in something and support, most likely more will follow I'm torn between whether I think his BD skills were because he believed in building on farcaster or because he enjoyed seeing the fees come in

Solana used this tactic the other way around on me. It acted as a fkin endless pit for my money in the beginning where I got rugged left and right. Now even though I get some free money and airdrops there from time to time I cannot view it as a serious chain.💀

that's literally how the biggest criminal organisations in the world work they help you get money or straight out give you a "subsidy" and then you vote for them

I love this take and thought piece that you have put out. The line is really blurred, and I will not go into the topic about doxxing because it's really individualistic for various reasons. But this brings me to the point that we need to not feel overwhelmed in both situations - people helping or ignoring. All we can do is feel grateful but not indebted when someone steps in but not make them Gods. I've felt this real time when it comes to me being empathetic and going overboard for others. It's not worth it. You still keep doing it because it's you but your expectations drop which shouldn't be in the first place at all. My outcome would be - Be stable at all times, try. Try to give back in ways you can to the same person or to someone who really needs it and then detach from it while you can still be an everlasting connection. Just because we may never know the full story. We would go by the gut feeling and our own energetic vibrations.

He is extremely smart and a master manipulator. It is not hard to build yourself up anonymously in this space with those skills.

I see you, definitely, we should be able to say wrong when the thing is wrong. but we defend everything so badly, that's human nature I guess and it's good study topic actually. eg. in turkey politics, everyone defends erdogan so badly despite he really managed so badly, he fucked up... even retards said: "he might steal our money, he works for us, he did for us." lmaoo :D
