How do you wrestle with the importance of being data-driven/tracking progress for community health <> not potentially run the mistake of optimizing for the wrong thing in community ? Seen this dynamic a few times, curious if anyone has any opinions.

I think it comes down to talking to your community about it — along the lines of “hey guys, we’re seeing a lot of activity in X and would love to support it”. They might not get it 100%, but they’ll tell you whether it’s worth optimizing in their own words.

gotcha, so sort of taking intuitive conclusions from information/data & getting community-approval or sentiment before implementing? Let me know if my assumption was off, want to make sure I get what you mean haha.

Yep! Community to me is all about the members, so their sentiment is always most valuable
