every once in a while there's an article about how some highly prolific famous person doesn't use social and it's written like it's the craziest thing in the world bc social is assumed to be the default. but yeah, the reason they're able to do so much is bc they're not glued to the scroll all day (๑>ᴗ<๑)

i'm definitely more productive now that i've stepped back from it and not being dragged down by the psychic horror show that social offers

which is also f*cked up tbh. we should not gate experiences based on wealth, nor education, nor third spaces. And if there's no mingling whatsoever, there's just gonna be increased separation. 

I mean already now there's few spaces you can just be without needing to buy something - ok, library and park. But that's about it.

i spoke to various ‘rich and important’ people in different fields about that and basically they all say — digital is gonna be for poor, and real life for rich

yeah I uit snapchat ages ago, and instagram I barely check - only every few months to see if I missed important messages. Usually I didn't so I leave again 🤣 

I do know people whose life is very insta-focused though. They can't go anywhere without needing to broadcast it.

in the past week i've had two conversations with people who were surprised that i don't use snapchat or instagram. and i find that surprising and symptomatic.
