Very alarmed by the breaking news that Donald Trump was shot while speaking at a campaign rally. He appears wounded but conscious in the aftermath of the attack and pumped his fist in defiance at the crowd.

Regardless of one’s views about Trump the introduction of political violence in the midst of already intense polarization is a dangerous sign for America. All parties should unite on minimum basis of condemning such attacks and calling for calm and unity. Regardless of our disagreements on core values violence of any sort by any party is unacceptable.

I also feel generally the violence toward politicans is escalating. In my city some local politicians were beat up badly while putting up posters..

And it is not rare to read such things anymore, it's really scary to wonder where this goes..
