So, I shared about some bad experiences I had at web3 events in my country and tbh I sorta regret ever making this post. https://x.com/rakshitaphilip/status/1706672277021135166?s=46

3. A lot of comments and replies were from men gaslighting me saying these events shouldn’t have alcohol and should have dress codes. I mean idk if that’ll really make a difference, besides I already feel sorta dirty from all the rumours that surfaced then. These comments just disturb me further.

Ugh those type of reactions are why it's so hard to even report or talk about those things. And adding dress codes... That really misses the point. Do these men not have sisters or mothers? I really don't get why they think it's okay. 😭

Indian society is very misogynistic. Like it’s considered okay to victim blame and there’s also a lot of moral policing. This enables abusers like these and makes it harder for women to speak up or just be themselves in public. I’ve faced victim shaming even at the police station while reporting serious crime.
