my only issue with funding projects with fees generated from trading is - it is not sustainable.

Yes, for most it can’t be the main long term revenue model.

What it can do:
-Give you enough funds to put together a first version of the vision.
-Measure communty sentiment (somewhat)

How to maybe get more runway from it:
- buy more supply at the start 
- use fees to create additional LP positions.
