Grow pine trees. Grow flax. Grow cotton. Hew your own lumber. Press your own linseed oil. Weave your own canvas. Mine your own iron ore, chalk, ochre, lapis lazuli, and other minerals. Smelt your own iron. Forge it into nails and brads. 2/

Trap or raise your own rabbits. Make gesso from rabbit skin glue and chalk. Chemically synthesize any pigments you canāt extract directly. Grind your pigments and mix your paint. Raise hogs. Use their hairs to make brushes. Now paint something. 3/
