Texas is a top state for workforce, tech and innovation—but we have some work to do in quality of life. Doesn’t feel that way in Austin, but we all know Austin ≠ Texas.

haven’t seen the details but i’m guessing the vast majority of these stats are for industries like health care and energy in cities like houston?

Energy and healthcare in the metros are certainly part of it, but definitely not all of it. Texas is outperforming most states on most fronts economically — in manufacturing, finance, aerospace, semiconductors, energy, defense, etc. We also have more startups spun out of universities and frequently lead in number of new jobs being created.

for sure. i’m pretty sure most of that is not high tech in austin but rather large industries in houston and dallas? those economies are very good at what they do
