I'd flip the question around and ask if we want all of those people here.  Half the comments to Jason's question read as insufferably entitled. It's going to be Reddit in 2010 (when Digg imploded) all over again.

Every time I take a break and come back to X, the timeline is unbearably toxic: too many salty comments and people either whining or attacking each other... Maybe the people I follow have taken a bad turn and I should clean up my following, but here I find a pleasant environment close to my interests.

X is like a huge public square, while FC feels like a cozy place where you almost feel at home.

Yup! It's got issues but it's not a big ego-driven hatefest, and that makes it way better IMO
