Interesting to consider leisure as a skill. Cool framing. Reminds me of what some artists say about boredom, that some of their best creative ideas surface during periods of boredom. Making me think about my relationship to boredom, leisure, and the skills involved with instantiating and occupying those spaces...

Leisure as a skill is so true. If you don't take time to prioritize leisure activities, you won't really ever be able to enjoy them when you do try. Just look at the workaholic that can't retire or the obsessed student that can't stop going back to school. I know lots of ppl who actually suck at leisure. It's almost glorified by the "career-is-life" crowd. "Find a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life" is a way of framing this idea, but with a positive spin; it is heavily implied that not only should you never stop working, but you should like it too! Someone once called me "a man of leisure" and after feeling judged I actually started thinking of it as a compliment! 🤣
