Cheers! It’ll be my 23rd ultra (4th backyard). But it’s the first race I’m attempting to win and having my coach build the playbook to win it 😬

I love the spirit of backyard ultras. In some way they let everyone be a winner — go the farthest they have ever gone

How deep is the field — do you know anything about your competition? (Apologies if this is an untoward thing to ask)

Amen! Incredible format and one that is more fun for me right now, than 50 mile trail races I was in a groove with.

For Broken Anvil, I expect the winner this year to need to complete ~26-30 yards. The past few years, it’s been the same winner, and he’s gone 24-25 yards.

But he’s also gone for 30 yards in another backyard elsewhere.

They’ll likely cap it at 100 runners in total this year 🤠
