because of that, and to safeguard my personal integrity and mental peace i did not -and won’t- buy any of it

It says create an open source replacement. So I am asking for what should be permitted in a submission:

* source available (of course)
* can I copy it
* if I copy it, do I have to share my modifications
* do I have to give attribution to original author

Reason: so someone doesn't submit something source-available without permission to copy, and it's clear when picking a winner what they allow you to do with it.

I'll work on a sentence or two to get the point across. Basically just want to avoid "you can read the source but you can't actually use it for anything else" submissions.

i really like this direction, and im grateful for your input. how would you phrase this accordingly? i will create a “guidelines” somewhere on the website to make sure this is in there

this is the first time i do something like this, and i would love it to be a community effort. this helps us move toward that. thank you
