i believe that $hackathon is a big idea and has lots of potential because of that, and to safeguard my personal integrity and mental peace i did not -and won’t- buy any of it i don’t want my finances to be tied to its potential. i want to be able to help develop the project without that noise freedom > money

It says create an open source replacement. So I am asking for what should be permitted in a submission: * source available (of course) * can I copy it * if I copy it, do I have to share my modifications * do I have to give attribution to original author Reason: so someone doesn't submit something source-available without permission to copy, and it's clear when picking a winner what they allow you to do with it.

i really like this direction, and im grateful for your input. how would you phrase this accordingly? i will create a “guidelines” somewhere on the website to make sure this is in there this is the first time i do something like this, and i would love it to be a community effort. this helps us move toward that. thank you
