Absolutely insane levels of delusion. The problem with the fires is apparently climate change and landlords hiking rent.

I think there have been fires there since prehistory, like the native plants are evolved to withstand them. But what made the fires devastating wasn't a rise in ambient temperatures or pollution, its deforestation and house building. So like, don't think you can "fix" it without depopulation?

The rise in ambient temperatures and warming of sea water also contributed to the strength of the santa Ana winds, which usually aren't this strong so late into the winter. Wild fires are no stranger to LA, but effects like the santa Ana winds are making the ones thay happen more impactful.

High Santa Ana winds are apparently highly correlated with conditions that start fires but not with size or duration. Population and housing density is a high correlation though.
