it boggles my mind that people as smart as EF devs/researchers refuse to recognize the critical overlap between technical and comms skills.

the best marketers in crypto are technical and the best engineers are good communicators. 

bringing these two skillsets together is how ethereum wins.

Ethereum became the most important blockchain ecosystem without any marketing but yet again we have this discussion over and over again in 10 years.

Marketing is for selling products. Ethereum is not a product. It's a protocol, a technology, a philosophy.

What exploded in 2020-21 was Polygon, BSC Smart Chain, Avalanche, Fantom.

These are EVM chains, but they do not have co-operative relationship with Ethereum (community/foundation) itself.
