Will the next breakout crypto app (10M+ users) be built by crypto natives, web2 builders, or former tradfi-ers?

Wife is currently in Barbados, and you cannot order hotel room service or a taxi without WhatsApp. Meta *has* to be planning a release of an L2 at this point. They can't just sit by with Coinbase raking in a ton of profits when they pretty much have the app ready to go. It's shockingly obvious that they're missing out here on one of the most clear business decisions on the planet. Regulators complained about them making a stablecoin bank, but they can completely circumvent this by integrating an L2 into WhatsApp. It would instantly onboard 3 billion people.

Interesting point! This poll definitely doesn’t cover the meaningful possibility of existing large companies getting involved I think the considerations for Meta in particular would be a lot harder though, as they have more of a political and regulatory spotlight on them globally than Coinbase does

I would believe all of their strongest onchain advocates have been gutted from the company. So there isn't a path to launching unless Zuck has an about-face. Doubt it. He has too much experience in politically heavy product areas.
