What would have followed if Pence rejected the electors? When Napoleon announced the dissolution of the Directory, they laughed him out, so he returned with soldiers and they jumped out of the windows and it was gone. I don’t want this to be a bubble, but I can think of a few ways it gets popped.

IMHO examination of sincerity is a bubble luxury. It's hard to explain how agents of power seem dense or even comical, but are so consequential. Their precursors acted no different but were less known; they were more mystical and less ironic. Robespierre will return and metamodernism will seem quaint.

If that is the case, then I don’t expect it to last long.

It seems the protagonist arc of metamodernism is more or less coming to terms with the fact we are on an absurd interactive ride, and we can enjoy it and that's enough. Is this close to the mark?

For DAOs, it prob depends on buy-in, size, and funding process. IMO the US gov is an example of fairly beneficial spending. It’s an economic engine that can ignore many market pressures. But it’s an ugly thing to see and is too bloated these days. Atm I expect the most spendy DAOs will be the most influential.

IMO in some cases, the ability to waste money or spend excessively is a super power. Pooled funds are insensitive to individual budgeting constraints/norms which can lead to spending that wouldn’t have happened otherwise.

gm ☕️ Mantis shrimp eyes. We gave 3 photoreceptors, they have 12-16. They can discern wavelengths 25nm apart, and several types of polarization.

I see inner things. I talk to inner myself. I don’t see words when I read, I hear them. I swear that the first time I took LSD it nerfed by inner feeling sensation.
