Very strong support for the upcoming changes to channels. You don’t need to squint to see how it could be a major growth driver. Direct channel invites for onboarding new users is particularly interesting, though I’m curious to see exactly how Warpcast approaches the UX. The phrase “channel entrepreneurs” was thrown around a few times. When you onboard a new user, you theoretically will have a lot more control over their first few moments on the app. In some other phraseology news, “cozy corners” is not really the right descriptor for channels in the new model, and I’m not even sure I heard anyone say it. The primitive is too flexible. Some channels are going to look like your local school board meeting and some are going to look like the house of commons.

A master class in product thinking from @dwr.eth and @v as usual. It was fun watching them hold court. The ability to stay focused and to discern what matters and what doesn’t and to synthesize new information in the context of the larger strategy is unrivaled. Maybe it’s because everyone there is onboard with the mission, but they were quite receptive to feedback, even maintaining constructive facial expressions while addressing the occasional dumb question or mid suggestion 😁

So wait... What does direct channel invites for onboarding new users mean? They still have to pay 5 bucks? But I guess they start off in the "cozy corner" with a reason to stick around?
