Alcohol consumption declining but is it permanent?

Consumption of beer peaked in 2016. Wine has been falling since 1979.  Interestingly, we have been spending more on alcohol while consuming less of it, opting for expensive cocktails and higher end booze.

clearly better for health, but almost certainly worse for birth rates, which has several kinds of negative externalities on health

Idk if i'm convinced that alcohol consumptions and birth rates are totally correlated
