not sure about the current state of warpcast, it seems *very* hard for those without a badge to get visibility. i literally only see posts from users with the badge and i've just realized that i'm missing a lot of nice things (notifications included) from artists i really like that don't have the badge 🤷

Power badge is to counter spam and suppress low value accounts so you have a better chance of finding quality content 

Before it was a mess. But hopefully one day soon they can get rid of it. Low value content, spam & bots is a huge problem that has to be countered some way.

The specific details of the power badge algorithm are not disclosed to prevent gaming of the system. The other fc algo’s like General Source Code and OpenRank APIs are all open source and verifiable.

To earn the Power Badge is not so hard:
- Use Farcaster regularly, posting several times a week
- Share high-quality content that resonates with other users
- Engage with the community by participating in discussions
- Avoid posting spam or irrelevant content
- Contribute positively to the network

They are distributed every Tuesday at 12:00 UTC.

yes but we are back to following the rules of an opaque algo that hopefully gives you some visibility if you do what it expects. why would you create a hostile environment for those who are not consistent on social media?
