Design

saying “everyone is a designer” is akin to saying “everyone is an athlete.”

just as anyone can (and should) participate in sport, anyone can participate in creative problem-solving. 

but the skill gap created with rigorous practice is vast.

You can be labeled a designer after literally making/doing anything, I would say “design” is very subjective. Being labeled as an athlete is way less subjective, in between you also have “athletic”.
I do agree skill gap can be created measured by some kind of following or paid metrics.
