you guys are children so probably don’t even remember having to hustle to get very rare and exclusive gmail invites back in the day. gmail was a very early tech scene status symbol

ok i just confirmed. i was 14 years old when i got access to gmail. i remember vividly how hard it was for me as a suburban dweeb with zero connections to tech industry to get an invite. after prolly a year of trying to get access i found out that a 3rd cousin at a family reunion worked in “tech” and he gave me an invite

nice. 2004 for me and i felt old then 😂 my first tech company was back in 96ish and i wish i could remember my AOL and BBS screen names. 🤦 most likely hilarious
